📝 Band Forms & Requirements

Welcome to another exciting season with the Fort Dorchester Band program! All students must complete and submit the required forms for Fort Dorchester Bands which are available on the Forms page.

✅ Forms You’ll Need

• Band Handbook Acknowledgement
  After reviewing the Band Handbook, submit the signed acknowledgment page.

• Medical Authorization Forms
  If your child requires medication (self-administered or provided by our volunteers), you must complete additional medical paperwork. Visit the Forms page for details.

• Volunteer Application
  All volunteers, food helpers, and medical tent assistants must complete the DD2 Volunteer Application Form

🎵 Practice Your Music

Passoffs are already underway. Please submit to leadership by due date. Start early to set yourself up for success!

💪 Get Active & Beat the Heat

Students should begin exercising and spending time outdoors to adjust to summer temperatures. Band camp includes several hours of daily physical activity.

🛏️ Fix Your Sleep Schedule

Start going to bed earlier a few weeks before camp. Being well-rested helps students stay sharp and safe.

🎒 Band Camp Essentials

Bring these items every day to camp:

• Instrument, music, pencil

• Comfortable athletic shoes (no slides or sandals)

• Light-colored, breathable clothing

• Wide-brim hat & sunglasses

• Sunscreen

• Cooling towel or sports towel

• Cinch sack or small backpack

• Water bottle

• Well balanced meals. Food is not provided.
• Good attitude and lots of motivation!

⏰ Drop-Off & Pick-Up

• Arrive Early: Drop students off at least 15 minutes before the posted call time. Early is on time!

• Pick-Up: Rehearsal ends at the stated time, but students may need an additional 15 minutes to clean up and gather belongings.

Encourage your student to check their CutTime messages regularly—communication is key during the season!

💧 Hydration & Nutrition Tips

Proper hydration starts before camp begins and continues throughout the day. Encourage students to drink water or sports drinks like Gatorade. Avoid dairy during camp—it doesn’t mix well with heat and physical activity.
